"Deb Approved" INGREDIENTS

"Deb Approved" is a term that was coined by one of my first clients. Her husband would say, “ Is this Deb approved?”as they walked through the grocery store. Learning a different way to understand food took me a long time. Once I replaced calories with nutrients, food wasn’t so daunting.

THE REASON WHY OUR SOCIETY IS SO CONFUSED ABOUT NUTRITION AND HEALTH:

It is my responsibility as a health and fitness professional and as a woman who has struggled to find the correct ways of eating, to inform and educate my clients, my readers, my friends and my family.

Here are a few reminders:

1. Please read the ingredients and  know what to avoid.

2. Please ask questions of  people you trust and who have your best interest at heart.

3. Please know that advertising and marketing
companies/people  are hired to sell their product and make money. They are very good at their jobs.

4. Please know there is no "quick-fix" and  there is no magic pill.

5. Please know that if a product sounds too good to be true and it offers a guarantee, it might be a waste of money and offer you false hopes.

AND THIS:

AVOID THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF SUGARS IN YOUR INGREDIENTS:
  • Sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Honey
  • High fructose corn syrup (any derivative of this: fructose, corn syrup)
  • Maple syrup
  • Molasses
  • Agave nectar
  • Evaporated cane juice
  • Brown rice syrup

This blog contains personal, unedited food log emails between my clients and me. Names have been changed to protect each client. Based on over 20 years experience, I understand the struggles of trying to eat healthier to feel better in our bodies and minds. Because of my own struggles, I finally found what works for myself and my clients. "Deb Approved" is based on ingredients, taste, convenience and nutrient dense foods. You are not alone. Join me and my clients on this journey. I come to your home to do the nutrition sessions or we can do the sessions over the phone or by email. I want to fill your home, body and brains with "Deb Approved" food.
